Experience
I tutored English for the University Writing Center at CSULB for the Fall of 2019 and Spring of 2020. I enjoy being a tutor because it allows me to help students develop their reading and writing skills so that they might become more independent writers. I received excellent training that prepared me to help a variety of students. I am capable of aiding students with any stage of the writing process, but I am also able to explain grammatical concepts to students if needed. Along side my first semester tutoring, I took a Directed Studies Composition course, which focused on studying various theories and practices in regard to tutoring and developing tutoring skills. I have led tutoring sessions that are geared towards preparing for writing exams, such as the GRE, and have also led workshops pertaining to such preparation. I want to continue being a tutor so that I might obtain more experience instructing, for it is my hope to become a professor of English.

Hobbies
I enjoy the outdoors immensely and go hiking often. I think it is extremely important that individuals spend time in nature or stay active. So, if I am not able to go on a hike, I find time to be active (running, yoga, etc.). In addition to this, I spend a lot of my time reading or painting. I do have a love for the arts and have found painting to be an effective medium for expression.
